” Life as an Abstract”

A Group show featuring 11 Photographic Artists

Gallery Director: Marina Kuchinski

Gallery: Wings Gallery at the College Of DuPage

SRC Building

February 8th to March 8th

Opening Reception: February 8th    7-9pm

View “Life as an Abstract” through the eyes of eleven different artists as they début their most recent photos, taken during classes through the College of Dupage Photography Program.

Students captured small fleeting moments in nature, the environment, of people and at many different locations.  Each artist was responsible for selecting his or her favorite photos. The combination of the diverse images creates a mosaic that represents an abstraction of life, revealing feeling and truth.

Come to the opening reception to meet the artists and enjoy some light refreshments on Monday, February 8th at the Wings Gallery from 7 to 9pm. It is located on the 1st floor of the SRC building at the College of DuPage.

“These photographs reflect my Professional Practices in Photography students’ vision and desire to communicate in a creative and thought-provoking way,” says Terry Vitacco, Associate Professor of Photography. “The images represent realism as well as abstraction with strong light and careful composition.”

“I am very proud of the students that organized, contributed their images and executed this exhibition.  The idea for the show was generated in the Professional Practices in Photography class, which encourages advanced students to showcase their work in professional venues such as galleries, editorial publications, and websites. “Life as an Abstract” is a testament to these students’ talent and initiative.”
